Hi Friends,
How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was great! The formal was a lot of fun! It was at Cipriani on Wall Street. It was a gorgeous venue and a lot of fun!

On another note I would like to talk about something I am sad to announce.. I am going to eliminate my from my life. My last post will be the recap of my half marathon…
Unfortunately blogging has opened up a viscous cycle for me. Before blogging I was your average 24 year old whom loved to cook delicious meals and exercise. I then started to run and decided to start the blog to track my running journey. I never considered myself as having an eating disorder but with all of the blogs bringing awareness in order of NEDA last week I realized in fact I have an eating disorder.. I am a compulsive over-eater. After reading Michele’s post on the subject and answering the quiz I realized I am faced with this issue every single day. She posted this quiz on her website.
Welcome to Overeaters Anonymous. This series of questions may help you determine if you are a compulsive eater.
- Do you eat when you’re not hungry? –YES
- Do you go on eating binges for no apparent reason? –YES
- Do you have feelings of guilt and remorse after overeating? –YES
- Do you give too much time and thought to food? –YES
- Do you look forward with pleasure and anticipation to the time when you can eat alone? –YES
- Do you plan these secret binges ahead of time? –SOMETIMES
- Do you eat sensibly before others and make up for it alone? –YES
- Is your weight affecting the way you live your life? –YES
- Have you tried to diet for a week (or longer), only to fall short of your goal? –YES
- Do you resent others telling you to “use a little willpower” to stop overeating? –NO
- Despite evidence to the contrary, have you continued to assert that you can diet “on your own” whenever you wish? –YES
- Do you crave to eat at a definite time, day or night, other than mealtime? –YES
- Do you eat to escape from worries or trouble? –YES
- Have you ever been treated for obesity or a food-related condition? –NO
- Does your eating behavior make you or others unhappy? –YES
Have you answered yes to three or more of these questions? If so, it is probable that you have or are well on your way to having a compulsive eating problem.
I was really bothered by this conclusion and had it on my mind all weekend. It was not until I was laying in Christian’s bed on Saturday morning that I realized this all started when I started the blog. The blog has caused me to obsess over food and think about what I can and can not have with the feeling I might be judged in the blog world. These feelings of deprivation then cause me to binge and so on.. As a results I have gained close to 10 pounds and not been “myself”.
Please don’t get me wrong.. I have enjoyed blogging VERY much and met some AMAZING people along the way.. There are A LOT of benefits to blogging but for ME the negatives are out-weighing the positives.
I want to thank all of my amazing readers for your support and kind words along the way.. You all are amazing.. Please feel free to contact me via e-mail megzzwins@live.com as I would love to keep in contact with you all. I also am keeping my twitter account so add me
Best of Luck in all of your journey’s..
Love,
Megan
